Hosting a wedding or wedding reception in a beautifully manicured backyard is very popular. During the 1970s, outdoor weddings were the trend but they continued to be a great choice among all age groups. If you live in a region where an outdoor wedding is possible, a wedding gazebo can create a beautiful place to celebrate while also being highly functional.

You could choose a wedding gazebo, if the wedding were planned for a sunny day but if you live somewhere such as Washington state or Portland, rain is always possible. In this case, the gazebo would provide protection should a rain shower develop while allowing the event to continue.

Typically, a wedding gazebo is white. With this as the backdrop, the inside and outside could be decorated to coordinate with the wedding colors. For example, you could place a white arbor at the entrance of the gazebo, one decorated with beautiful flowers and greenery. From the center of the wedding gazebo, streamers or panels of airy material could be attached and then draped to the sides. Other possibilities include placing fresh flowers around the inside, setting up white lawn chairs with flowers on the ends rows, candles set on a table, and so on.

The great thing is that a wedding gazebo is available in a wide range of sizes. Now, if you were going to plan an outdoor wedding in your backyard, chances are the wedding would be smaller. In this case, a smaller gazebo would accommodate the intimate occasion. However, if you planned to have a much larger wedding at the local park, the white lawn chairs could be placed outside the gazebo with the actual vows being exchanged under the gazebo.

Again, if the wedding were smaller, a wedding gazebo would work exceptionally well. However, if you want a church wedding, then a gazebo could be used for hosting the reception. Although you would not expect everyone to end up underneath one roof at the same time, the gazebo would provide protection over the first dance, the cutting of the cake, champagne toast, the best man’s speech, and so on.

Now, if you happen to have permanent wood or vinyl gazebo already in place, this too would make an excellent wedding gazebo. Just imagine the fun you would have getting this organized. With chairs down below, the couple would be standing in the center of the gazebo for all the guests to see.

Miniature twinkling lights could be strung around the edging of the roof, organza material draped along the back, pillar candles on tables to the side, and gorgeous flowers set on the side railing.

Keep in mind that many parks have an existing gazebo.

Therefore, if you have your heart set on an outdoor wedding but find the budget does not warrant buying a wedding gazebo, find one available. For  instance, a park down by the river with a whitewashed gazebo on a soft breezy day would make the ideal wedding.
